Ok, just a warning to everybody, this is going to be a little bit of a long story.  It includes a lot of personal details about my life, so please try to respect that.  I really feel like I went through several lifetimes of experiences getting to this point, but I’m glad I stuck with it.  Anyway, here goes:

My ex-boyfriend and I were very close going into college.  We decided to go to the same school so we could stay together and it seemed like a great plan.  I was majoring in business and he wanted to be a writer.  It seemed like a perfect plan…go to college, graduate, get good jobs, get married, etc.  Things didn’t end up working out that way, though.

We started school living off-campus together.  We had this cute little apartment and everything seemed perfect.  In the beginning, we would make our own food at home for 3 meals a day, sometimes going out to grab lunch.  But as the work ramped up, we had less and less time to cook dinner, and also, we just kind of got lazy.  It happens to pretty much everyone in college, apparently.  Grabbing burgers after class and ordering pizza soon replaced what used to be good food at home.

My ex-boyfriend didn’t mind eating out a lot, really, and it didn’t have much effect on him.  He has this high metabolism that lets him eat pretty much whatever he wants with no real bad effects on his body.  I used to be like this all through high school, but I guess some switch flipped when got to college, because I started slowly getting a little bigger.

It wasn’t much weight at first.  My boyfriend at the time even said it was a little sexy cause I had “more curvy hips” so I guess at first it was a good thing.  But that didn’t end up lasting forever.  I steadily gained weight for about a year.  It didn’t happen all at once so it would have been hard for me to even notice I was gaining weight if my clothes didn’t stop fitting.  That was easily fixed by wearing sweats and loose fitting stuff around campus.  Here is a picture of what I looked like at that point:

The Old Me

The Old Me

I just want to say that I was not happy with how I looked at that time, but I was “happy” with everything else.  I was comfortable emotionally because I had a boyfriend who, I thought, loved me for who I was, so I didn’t think I needed to do anything to lose weight and be more healthy.  In my mind it was just another thing to add to the checklist after I finished the important stuff which was school.

Then everything came crashing down.  I caught my boyfriend of six years cheating on me and ended our relationship.  I didn’t even need to ask why he did it.  He would never say it to my face, but I knew it was because I had gained so much weight and found another girl more attractive than me.  It’s sad, but that’s just how most all guys are.  Anyway, I was really devistated when it happened, but I didn’t let it get me down too much.

I decided enough was enough and started taking some action to “get my sexy back” and prove to myself and to the world that I deserve better than how he treated me.  Although I met many setbacks, this ended up being the best decision I have ever made in my life.

So what did I end up doing to lose weight?  Well, it wasn’t easy, that’s for sure.  I’m sure you’ve seen tons of diet products out there, and lots of fad diets and exercise products all the time on tv.  Well, most of them are scams.  Seriously.  I fell for a lot of them myself before finally finding something that worked.

The first diets I tried were the Atkins and South Beach diets.  At the time, everyone in the news was raving about them and talking about how much weight they were losing.  Well, as it turns out, they’re not even healthy for your body really.  I had to drastically change my eating habits by eliminating carbs which my body did NOT respond to well.  This apparently is very common and one of the major reasons why these diets suck.  I wish someone had told me that before I tried which would have saved me a lot of time and energy.

I also tried the slim fast diet, which seems reasonable at first.  It is basically just controlled portions, but you have to keep buying their products.  If you don’t like how they taste, then you’re pretty much screwed.  Well guess what, they taste terrible, at least to me.  Sorry, but I’m not really interested in choking down disgusting “chocolate” shakes for the next 2 years just to keep skinny.  I was able to lose a little weight with this, but just ended up gaining it all back, and then some.

The last failed diet I tried was jenny craig, which, at first glance, seemed very doable.  The name is obviously very recognizable and so I thought it had to be good.  Well, the first red flag for me was the cost.  They wanted me to spend hundreds of dollars to lose weight without any sort of guarantee.  After getting over the pricetag and trying it, the thing was really a nightmare for me.  I had to spend so much time counting everything and keeping track of all my meals and stuff that I just got frustrated and gave up.  I was really not motivated to exercise or anything after that.

So at this point, you can imagine that I was really fed up with diets.  I had almost given up on losing weight and was kinda accepting the fact that I was going to be overweight for the rest of my life.  In my mind, this made the chances of finding a good, cute, intelligent guy seem pretty small.  Yeah, guys are superficial, let’s face it, and the good ones just don’t settle for the fat girl when there are so many skinny girls out there who would love to date them.  I was really on the verge of calling it quits on my plan to lose weight, after over 2 years of trying really hard and ending up actually a few pounds heavier than when i started, when something great happened.

I was on the phone with my good friend Jenny (I have to give my girl a shout-out because of everything she’s done for me) and she was on vacation in Brazil.  If you’ve ever been to Brazil you will know that all the girls on the beaches have amazing bodies.  Well, she told me that everyone there was having drinks with this fruit called Acai Berry in them.  It was supposed to give you more energy and help you work out and lose weight pretty easily without changing your diet very much.  I was, of course, very skeptical because of the number of diets I had been scammed by, so I put it in the back of my mind.  Well, the next day I was watching Oprah and, guess what, they were talking about the exact same fruit and how it was amazing at helping people lose weight.

So I decided to do some research.  Here’s what I found out:  There are a ton of products out there these days with Acai in them.  You can go to the grocery store and find a few I’m sure.  They are probably great tasting and everything, but none of them are concentrated enough to actually help you lose weight.  So I looked for a concentrated Acai Berry product that wasn’t going to break my bank account, and most of the sites I read including articles on cnn.com and fox news health recommended Acai Berry 500.

This Acai Berry product looked good for a number of reasons.  First, and most importantly, there is a FREE trial.  That’s right…free.  I guess you could technically keep ordering free trials every month for life if you wanted, but I’m a little too honest for that, and the stuff actually does what it claims to do.  Second, like I said, it really does work.

I ordered my free trial, and started using it.  It’s really easy to take with any juice, water, or even soda.  I usually put it in orange or grape soda, which I’ve always had a sweet tooth for.  Anyway, the first day I didn’t really feel much, but I was hopeful, so I went to the gym and did a half an hour or so on the treadmill, and ended up eating a pretty big dinner.  The next day, though, I expected to be really tired because that’s how I normally feel after working out the day before.  But instead of being tired, I woke up really energetic.  I had my Acai Berry in the morning and by the time evening rolled around I was really excited to get back to the gym and exercise again.  It was like a total transformation.

Well, 3 months later and I’m 47 pounds lighter, all thanks to Acai Berry and my friend Jenny who originally told me about it.  Thank god she did, because now I’m seriously happy about the way I look for the first time in years.  I’m even getting dates with actual stable, good looking guys, which I can’t complain about either!  No serious boyfriend yet, but I’m confident I’ll find the right one soon.  At least now I’m the one doing the picking, right?

I’m sure you probably want to see an “after” picture of me since I lost all the weight, so I will show you, but first, before I forget to include it, I want to tell you how to get a special deal on the Acai Berry suppliment.  Ok, so go to this page to get your free trial, and you’ll see that you have to pay $3.95 for shipping, right?  Well if you click the “back” button on your browser, It will pop up a window offering you to pay only $1 for the shipping of the first 30day supply.  So just hit cancel and then you’ll be getting a better deal than pretty much everyone else.

Alright, here’s the after pic.  This is something I can truly be proud of.  Sometimes I’m walking by a reflective window and catch a glimpse of my reflection and think “wow, that girl is hot!” before realizing that it’s actually me.  Take a look:
